It's been a while ...
Hi.
I know. It’s been a long time. You signed up for something I stopped writing, and I never really explained why. I’m sorry about that.
Here’s the short version: writing about fatherhood meant writing about my son. At some point that started to feel like a boundary I didn’t want to cross — his life isn’t mine to narrate, drip by drip, in a newsletter. So I stopped. It was the right call. He turns 8½ this month, he is still the absolute center of my universe, and he is doing just great.
What I’ve been doing in the meantime is writing a completely different newsletter. It’s called The Foxman Edit, and for the past few months I’ve been publishing it on LinkedIn … sixteen issues, so far, about brand, culture, and why certain things resonate while others quietly disappear.
Things like: why your customers don’t trust you as much as you think they do — and what to actually do about it. Why every new store, hotel, and restaurant is starting to feel like every other store, hotel, and restaurant. Why the most powerful thing a brand can build right now isn’t a product or a campaign — it’s a reason to show up.
I’m moving it here now. Substack is a better home for it, and for you as a reader. Which means you’re already subscribed, and the full archive of all sixteen issues is right here waiting for you. Start anywhere. And if you stay, a new issue lands pretty much every Tuesday.
If it’s not your thing, please unsubscribe. I mean that sincerely. But if any of this sounds like your world, I think you’ll find something worth reading.
First new one coming soon.
Thanks for still being here. It means more than you know.
Ariel
